PEORIA -- A unique musical show at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 31 at the Apollo Theater, 311 Main, will feature Edith Barnard as the author Harriet Beecher Stowe.
Bernard has portrayed Harriet at libraries, museums schools and clubs, for two decades.
She once lived in Brunswick, Maine, near the house where Harriet lived when she wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin.
Wes Sedrel, guitarist extraordinaire, will accompany Bernard, playing Civil War tunes as background enhancement to the portrayal.
The show is a fund-raiser for Look It's My Book, a Peoria charity founded by Janet Roth that aims to place new books in the homes of Peoria children.
Intermission will feature wine, soft drinks and treats.
Mitch Williams, internationally acclaimed magician, will mesmerize with his amazing feats of magic after intermission.
Tickets are $13 for adults, $9 for children.
This show launches a two day state-wide arts conference on June 1 & 2 at the Pere Marquette Hotel.
