PEORIA -- Here are two great meetings, both on Saturday morning, Sept. 25. Take your pick! Animals or candidates.
Animals: Members of the Peoria County Board will meet with citizens and others in a discussion about the Peoria County Animal Protection Services' mission, objectives, and goals. The meeting will take place from 8:30 am - 12 pm on Saturday, September 25, at Wildlife Prairie Park.

Candidates: The League of Women Voters of
Greater Peoria will host a candidate forum for three important local races, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Weaver
Ridge Golf Club,
The candidates who have
agreed to attend are Jehan Gordon and Jim Montelongo, candidates for the Illinois
House District 92 (Peoria area); Mike Smith and Mike Unes, candidates for
Illinois House District 91 (Tazewell/Fulton County area); and John Vespa and Christopher Spanos, candidates
for judge in the 10th Judicial Circuit.
The candidates will make statements
and answer questions from the audience.
The event is free and open to the public.
An optional light breakfast
for $7.50 will be available for purchase at 8:30 a.m.
