The League of Women Voters presents a Peoria City Council at-large candidate forum at 9 a.m. at Methodist North, on Allen Road. See news release below.

If you want more information, please contact Barb Miller or Nancy Long at info@peorianow.org.
Then, the Peoria Area Peace Network will be protesting for the 8th anniversary of the Iraq War, you know, the one that supposedly ended back in August when our politicians and media declared it over and a huge victory for Western-style democracy (even the wikipedia page for the Iraq War has an end date.)
The PAPN will be at the corner of University and Main from 12 p.m.-1 p.m., like they have been since the beginning, denouncing these illegal occupations.
There will also be protests going on in Chicago against the Iraq war. The protest starts at noon at Liberation Square, 500 S. Michigan Ave. & Congress Parkway.
Bloomington Normal Community for Peace and Justice (BNCPJ) and Common Action are carpooling up there Saturday morning. They will meet at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts at 8:30 a.m. on March 19th. If you are interested in joining a carpool, please RSVP to Rachel (shiv0012@umn.edu) to reserve a seat or Stefen (stefenrobinson@gmail.com).
In Madison, Wisc., the demonstrations continue, protesting Gov. Scott Walker's anti-union, anti farmers, anti-education, anti environment, etc. budget repair bill. Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) Madison chapter is having a march from the local library, up State Street, and then ending in front of the Capitol building.
You can get more information about the event at their facebook page. For those who twitter, PAPN president Michael Perillo who will be there will try and have up to date information as the events unfold in Madison. Check out @MPerillo83.
He has also posted past videos from Feb. 27-Mar 4 at Youtube under the user name michaelperillo83. As the people in Madison say, "This is not a protest. This is a movement." -30-
