Hey business whiners: Illinois the best US state in which to make a living

PEORIA -- Illinois is the best state in the USA in which to make a living, with an adjusted average income of almost $42,000 annually.  That's the conclusion of Money.com, which cites high pay and low living expenses to reach its conclusion.

Now will all the giant corporations, whose executives earn multi-millions, just shut up about Illinois and its government and tax policies! Its liberal government must be doing something right, and taxes are just a part of the mix.

Want to hear more?  Economist Ralph Martire of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability in Chicago, speaks to the Peoria Area League of Women Voters at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28 in the conference room at Lakeview Museum in Peoria.   He will argue that higher taxes lead to prosperity, and not the reverse.

Or as some have said, money is like fertilizer -- it must be spread around.
