PEORIA, IL -- The Peoria Bach Festival is underway, and runs through Sunday, June 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church 135 NE Randolph in downtown Peoria. It presents outstanding musicians playing timeless music in a beautiful setting.
The concert today from noon to 1 pm featured chamber music from the 18th century. All the composers, Bach and his contemporaries, were born in the 1680s, and lived until the mid-17th century.
Imagine -- we still listen to their music. Can the same be said about today's contemporary music, even classical music? Will audiences give it a standing ovation 400 years from now, as they did today's concert?
Check out the schedule here, and attend a concert, to be transported back into history.
